Abstract. The expediency of fundamental reform of the sector will be evaluated as a result of evaluating the structural and management processes taking place in the energy sector, attempts to identify the main organizational and systemic problems, working on the long-term concept of the development of the country’s energy system, positive experience and impartial assessment of the mistakes made. Structural changes begin with the formulation and justification of structural goals, principles and tasks. This set of principles and rules represents the direction of structural changes of the enterprise. The purpose of structural changes is to form organizational units (including management bodies) and relationships between them for the most effective performance of all functions performed by the company. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, acceleration of change (transformation) of state-owned enterprises, privatization, as well as reduction of the state’s participation in the economy are the priority directions of structural changes.
